Dr. Aymen Nefaa is a linguist with expertise in applied linguistics, bilingual education, and sign language studies. He earned his Ph.D. in Linguistics from Aix-Marseille University, France (2019-2024), focusing on the bilingual and trilingual education. He holds a Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics and a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Arts from the 7th of November University at Carthage, Tunisia.
Dr. Nefaa's teaching career includes working as Head of the English Language Department at Northern Border University, Saudi Arabia (2017-2019). In this role, he led departmental accreditation efforts, developed curricula, and supervised multiple committees, including those for teacher evaluation and student assessment. He also oversaw the implementation of the Rosetta Stone online educational program and contributed to the university's educational magazine. Additionally, he worked as an English Assistant Professor at the University of Jendouba, Tunisia (2008-2012), teaching various English language courses, including TEFL, translation, and business English, while coordinating curriculum development and supervising student research projects.
Dr. Nefaa’s research focuses on linguistic diversity and multilingual education, particularly in the Tunisian context. His notable publications include a 2023 study on Tunisian and French Sign Languages and a 2022 paper on developing a bicultural trilingual education models. He has presented at various conferences, discussing the applicability of bilingual and trilingual education approaches in Tunisia.
Fluent in Arabic, French, and English, with basic knowledge of Italian and Tunisian Sign Language, Dr. Nefaa has a strong international background. His experience in curriculum planning and evaluation, and multilingual education reflects his dedication to advancing linguistic studies and improving language education across diverse cultural settings. He continues to contribute to the academic community through his research and teaching.
