Biography: Mouna Ben Othman holds a PhD in Economic Sciences from the Faculty of Economic Sciences at Sophia Antipolis in Nice. She is an Associate Professor at l'École supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales de Tunis (ESSECT). She has been working for 20 years on social protection, particularly on pension systems. She also focuses on transformative and gender-oriented social policies in Tunisia as part of a research project, GETSPA, involving 31 African countries. In this project, she continues to work on debt issues in Tunisia. As a consultant for the World Bank, she has worked on the social transfer program under the "Amen" initiative with the Ministry of Social Affairs. In this context, she also participated in 2023 in drafting a study on pension reform in Tunisia. Currently, she is involved in a capacity-building project for employees of social security funds and the research and social studies center (CRES). She is engaged in community life through projects aimed at the social inclusion of youth under 18. These projects particularly focus on combating violence in educational environments in disadvantaged areas, with an emphasis on gender-based violence.
