Mahdi Ben Jelloul

Biography: Mahdi Ben Jelloul is a freelance public economist working as a consultant for the World Bank. He worked at France Stratégie (the government policy analysis body of the Office of the French Prime Minister) with a focus on education, climate change, family policies and housing. He is the co-creator of the microsimulation tool openfisca, which he developed in partnership with Etalab. He then joined the Institut des politiques publiques where he was involved in the development of IPP's static (TAXIPP) and dynamic (TAXIPP-Life) microsimulation models used for various policy evaluations of the French budget along other fiscal, pension and social protection reforms.
